EKF presented control service ePRO24
The solution ensures allows for control of over the electrical system in a house, apartment, office, commercial or industrial premises.
It helps turn on and off electrical equipment and monitor power grid from anywhere in the world.
Today's distribution cabinets contain much more equipment than they did 10 years ago, comprising not just conventional meters, automatic switches, and circuit breakers. Depending on the project, they may store arc-fault circuit interrupters, timers, and relays (e.g., voltage control, room lighting control, or floor heating temperature control devices).
To manage the diverse equipment inside a cabinet, EKF developed ePRO24, a Wi-Fi/GSM controller and a web application for it.
"The service allows the user to manage electrical devices in real time—just by pressing corresponding buttons. If you forgot to turn off the lights when leaving for work, you can switch off the grid on the way, using your smartphone," explains Dmitry Kucherov, Director of Strategic Development at EKF.
The app also shows the status of the protection equipment: for example, whether residual-current and arc-fault circuit breakers are on. If they are off, it may mean a fault has occurred—and you can respond.
One controller allows you to control four electrical points (e.g., light bulbs, outlets, a stove, a and washing machine) and monitor the status of six safety devices. Using the extension modules, you can control up to 36 points and up to 54 devices.
To make it easier for electricians, assemblers, builders to design electric boards, EKF has created an online calculator titled SmartBox. It helps select devices based on the individual needs of a certain residential, commercial, or industrial facility. In the controller tab, a user can add ePRO24 to the board project. Based on the parameters, the program designs a diagram and specifications that can be downloaded and used during installation.
The ePRO24 controllers are modular, installed onto the DIN rail, fitted with a clapper relay and galvanic isolation. For easy installation, devices are equipped with removable terminals.
