Chairman of RAEC Board of Directors Nominated for “Golden Photon” Award

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of RAEC was nominated by Aleksandr Sheiko, CEO of Bigpro Group of Companies.

"Andrey Sukhoverkhov is the initiator and head of the first Russian union of independent electrotechnical distributing companies, which have leading positions in their regions, RAEC.

 Currently, Andrey is Chairman of the Board of Directors of RAEC.

The Russian Association of Electrotechnical Companies was founded in 2012, and Andrey invested a lot of time and effort in the emergence of such a union, and applied his unique talent as an organiser. RAEC began as a union of 4 companies, the first of which was Sukhoverkhov's company AVS-Electro, and 7 years later, in 2019, the association unites 16 independent electrotechnical member companies with 170 cities and towns of presence, with 380 sales points, with more than 7000 full-time employees and with sales volume of 72 billion rubles as of 2018.

Among the RAEC achievements, I emphasize two “breakthrough” areas of the union’s activities that have positively changed and are changing our industry. The first is the popularization in Russia of the ETIM (Electrotechnical Information Model) standard for light and electrical products bases, Russification and implementation of this format, creation and development of the Unified Electrotechnical Products Database with more than 1,000,000 items. Today the ETIM standard is the industry standard in the Russian Federation. The classification of lighting and electrical products in this standard is designed in such a way that any person within the “manufacturer-buyer” chain can receive correct information about each product. ETIM standard, Russified and transformed to the Russian light and electrical market, is used not only by the member companies of RAEC, their customers-dealers, but also by Russian manufacturers and end users.

The second “breakthrough” direction of RAEC was the creation of the University of RAEC - a digital educational environment with its own unique content. This platform for distance self-learning of employees is used by 16 member companies of RAEC, which means that the lighting technology market has received an increase in the professional level of specialists in the lighting and electrical industries.

A platform has been created on the grounds of RAEC, where owners and top managers of the companies - members of RAEC exchange their experience, discuss the ways of developing the lighting and electrical industries. 

RAEC made a breakthrough in the Russian lighting and electrotechnical market, showing the strength of cooperation in practice, and without Andrey Sukhoverkhov, without his initiative and energy, there would not have been such a phenomenon as RAEC. 

Apart from the merit of creating the RAEC union, which is changing the lighting market, the merits of Andrey Sukhoverkhov also include the transformation path of AVS-Electro from the electrotechnical to the project lighting and electrotechnical  company, as well as its role in the creation of the Charter of Honest Entrepreneurs in 2014, which grew into the “Honest Position” Association in 2015. 

Andrey Sukhoverkhov is one of the drivers of our industry, initiating sometimes revolutionary ideas and making them real.
