Elcom-Electro Representatives Visited the Alyur Cable Plant in Velikie Luki

The December visit pursued several goals, among which the most important were:

• summing up the results of the collaboration between Elcom-Electro and the Alyur plant;

• major innovations for the period of cooperation from the beginning to the end of 2019;

• actual issues of the cable products market (the position of Alyur in the field of quality control of materials, components for the cable products, etc.);

• exchange of views on the current situation both on the electrical engineering market of cable products, and the state of affairs in the field of interaction between the two companies - Elcom-Electo and the cable enterprise in Velikie Luki.

Before the business conference, scheduled for the afternoon, the employees of Elcom-Electro had the opportunity to get acquainted with the full cycle of cable production: from the preparation of materials to the shipment of finished products to their destination.

In order for guests to be able to fully and without any complications learn the technological process of creating a cable, after group photo in the conference hall of the Alyur plant, they were separated into two groups, led by “guides”. In the first group, this responsibility was assumed by the plant’s Chief Technologist, Yuriy Gruzdov, in the second it was Denis Letunov, Director for Production and Technical Issues, and Evgeniy Belonozhko, head of the production workshop.

Under the guidance of experienced specialists, the guests from Moscow saw how the different types of cable are created, what equipment and technologies are used. Alyur is a plant that uses modern methods of creating cable products, thus visitor had many questions, which group leaders answered almost without pauses. No stage of the production of cable equipment went unnoticed, and all the nuances of technological processes were carefully studied.

Also, the Velikiye Luki cable plant is a member of the Cable without Danger program and the Honest Cable project, which imposes stringent duties and quality standards on the products of the manufacturer. As a result of these initiatives, the plant should maintain its reputation. To be sure of the reliability of its own cable, there is an input control laboratory on the territory of the enterprise. The quality parameters of the finished products are carefully studied there, among which fire safety is important. In this regard, the laboratory of the plant is equipped with everything necessary: reagents, measuring equipment, as well as a special cabinet, where fire tests are carried out. 

 Representatives of Elcom-Electro looked at how the cable is checked and what the experts of the experimental research laboratory use to do this.

The final part of the excursion included a visit to the almost constructed new production hall and the finished goods warehouse, where the products are stored, sorted and arranged before being sent to the customer.

After an informative educational program concerning the manufacture of cable products, guests shared their impressions of what they saw and summed up the tour.

According to Olga Batova, Commercial Director of Elcom-Electro, and Biryukova Lyubov, a manager of the procurement department, who is also responsible for training at the company, Alyur is one of the best manufacturing enterprises that they have visited. Despite the fact that the main point of the arrival was the solution of business issues and prospects for cooperation, the introductory tour came very useful and created an idea of ​​how the plant operates and what can be expected in the future.

The guests were struck by the high level of production culture, order, organization and, as Olga Batova said, it immediately caught the eye that everyone was in their place - everything worked well and efficiently. Both groups expressed their appreciation to the technical specialists of the plant, who familiarized them with the stages of cable manufacturing, noting their high level of knowledge and practical skills.

Further, Biryukova Lyubov added that she did not expect to find anything special at the Velikiye Luki enterprise, as she had visited many places and, in her opinion, had seen a lot. However, she was pleasantly surprised by the control systems of the technological process, modern equipment, measuring instruments, the general level of optimization of the plant complex and its noticeable growth compared to other representatives of the cable and wire industry.
