Prysmian Group Becomes a RAEC supplier

Prysmian Group has become an official supplier of the Association since April 2019.


Prysmian Group is the world's leading manufacturer of high-tech cables and energy and telecommunications systems.

Prysmian Group in Russia is the owner of the Rybinskelectrokabel, LLC factory. 

As of now, the factory in Rybinsk produces cables for medium voltage up to 35 kV and cables for high voltage up to 330kV with a maximum cross-section of 2,500 mm2 with cross-linked polyethylene insulation. In addition, the production of cables for the oil and gas industry, fire-resistant cables (AFUMEX®) and auto wires has been launched.

The development trends of the Prysmian factory will allow the Yaroslavl region to become the leading region in Russia for the production of cable and wire and cover 20% of the demand of the Russian energy market. The launch of its local production in Russia has undoubtedly become a new competitive advantage for Prysmian and helped to strengthen the company's presence in the highly promising Russian market.

In recent years, the Group has been involved in the development of the high-voltage network in St. Petersburg and in the modernization of the Moscow electrical transmission network. In the telecommunications industry, Prysmian supplies FTTH and OPGW systems to a number of major Russian cities.

The group is also a leader in the supply and installation of submarine cable due to a cross-integrated system of three factories located in Europe, which also includes two special cable-laying ships that operate both in shallow and deep waters. Prysmian's deepwater cable division has been involved in underwater cable laying projects in Russia as well, supplying high voltage underwater cable for the project in St. Petersburg and on Lake Ladoga.

The Prysmian team in Russia, together with the international team of the Corporation, is actively involved in major infrastructure projects of the Russian Federation, integrating its know-how and innovative technologies in power transmission and distribution.
