RAEC Nomenclature Center and ETIM launched regular weight and dimension control

Correct weights and dimensions are a critical sales shaping factor in e-com.

A cargo scanner can quickly and accurately measure a product in 3D and define the weight parameters.  This functionality, which is a proprietary solution of the Nomenclature Center, provides additional assurance of the correctness of weights and dimensions.

Having accurate weight and dimension specifications allows a distributor to plan delivery efficiently and not just optimize but avoid unnecessary costs.

How are weights and dimensions controlled? The RAEC stock items are measured every day. The information is passed from the cargo scanner to the Common Base, inspected by an engineer and a programmer, and then published. If there are discrepancies with the weights and dimensions data provided by the supplier, the company receives a correction and adjustment request. This way, data is verified not only in the RAEC Common Base but also in the supplier's internal system.

The measurement results are also available via the API of the RAEC Common Base.
