The hero city of Smolensk is now full of light
As part of an energy service contract, 14603 lamps were replaced in the city.

All work on modernization of street lighting was carried out by the company ESKO Lighting Technologies. The company “entered” the city in November, 2019, and in March, 2020, work on replacing old lamps with modern LED ones was completed. Anyone could follow the progress of the work: traditionally, the company presented an interactive map, where the process of replacing lamps in the streets of the city was displayed online. The residents were able to track deadlines and watch the city get brighter, report problems, and get a timely response to the signal.
A total of 14,603 console fixtures connected to municipal electrical network and 276 outdoor lighting control cabinets were replaced. 2012 luminaires received the functionality of remote control over wireless networks using the LoRaWAN protocol. The new LED lighting fixtures installed in Smolensk were produced by the Russian manufacturer, Lighting Technologies”
It is important that the new light in Smolensk appeared not only in the central streets of the city, but also in courtyards, where previously there was a lack of light or significant overexposure, which, contrary to popular belief, creates significant discomfort.
New street lighting will not only make the city comfortable, but will also bring significant savings in electricity consumption: according to forecasts, it will be at least 64%.
Thus, the energy service contract becomes working and effective - a form of cooperation between the customer and the contractor, its main advantage is the ability to replace equipment without attracting investment from the budget.
